AMMONNEWS - Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel foiled a drug smuggling attempt and arrested three suspects in possession of 280,000 narcotic pills.
A source at the Public Security Department said in a statement on Monday that the AND received information about three people preparing to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills into a neighboring country by hiding them in a vehicle.
After following up the information, the AND personnel seized the vehicle and arrested three suspects,' the source said, adding that 280,000 narcotic pills were found after searching the vehicle.
The source said that investigation began to refer the arrested to the State Security Court prosecutor general.
