Jordan eyes closer security cooperation with Germany
AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Sameer Mubaideen on Monday received a delegation representing the German interior ministry to discuss a draft agreement between both countries on counterterrorism, drug dealing, illegal migration, arms trafficking and document forgery.
At the meeting, the minister underscored the 'long-standing and deep ties' between Jordan and Germany and voiced the need to further foster them to achieve mutual interests.
He, moreover, pointed out the importance of exchanging security and training expertise and two-way visits as well, in a bid to step up the level of cooperation and coordination to counter various forms of crimes.
The visiting delegation commended Jordan's role in addressing issues facing the Middle East, especially in the fields of antiterrorism, crimes and the Kingdom's unwavering endeavors to realize regional and international peace and stability.
They agreed during the meeting to sustain coordination and consultations on various topics of mutual concern.
