PM launches national campaign to collect donations for Syrian brothers
AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz on Sunday launched a national campaign to raise in-kind and relief donations for the Syrian brothers on the other side of the borders.
During a visit to the Jordanian-Syrian borders, the prime minister said that such assistance would be delivered through the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), which has extensive experience in delivering aid to countries and peoples that are affected by disasters, whether natural or wars.
The donation mechanism will be announced by JHCO Monday morning.
Al-Razzaz pointed out that the Jordanian people started two days ago collecting relief and in-kind donations for the Syrian people in southern Syria.
A number of trucks loaded with food, drinking water, and relief supplies are waiting near the Jordanian-Syrian border, awaiting delivery to the Syrian brothers. One of the drivers of these trucks says that staying under the sun may expose the cargo to damage, which requires finding the appropriate mechanism to accelerate delivery.
According to official statistics, over the past two days, 30 truckloads of food and relief items, mostly from Jordanians, have been delivered to internally displaced persons inside Syrian territory.
