Border guard arrest 2 trying to breach northern frontier
AMMONNEWS - Border guard troops in the Northern Military Zone, in coordination with military security officers, arrested two men on Sunday evening as they attempted to infiltrate from Jordanian territory into Syria to join the Daesh terror group, according to a responsible source at the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army command.
It said that an initial investigation with the men found that they believed in the terror group's ideology and had agreed to carry out stabbings and assaults on security forces personnel and perpetrate sabotage using Molotov cocktails.
The suspects, it said, were handed over to the competent authorities to continue the investigation and identify those behind disseminating such ideology and misleading and exploiting people to implement the organisation's agenda and propagate its extremist ideology.
