5 people who appeared in video beating a man, arrested
AMMONNEWS - An investigative team of the Amman Central Public Security Command arrested five persons who appeared on a video beating a man in a West Amman street, which went viral on social platforms, according to a security source.
It said in a statement that the investigators had identified eight assailants involved in the attack and that five of them were arrested and a search was still underway to apprehend the others.
The source said investigations are ongoing about 'all the details that led to the assault' until the case is referred to the judicial authorities. It warned the public not to post or circulate any 'misleading and undocumented recordings or videos about such incidents that could distort facts, incite people, and social problems.' West Amman Prosecutor, Judge Amer Al Qudah, has issued an order banning any publications on the assault under the provisions of the penal code.
