AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs, Mohammad Al-Momani, hailed the strategic relations between Jordan and the United States of America and stressed keenness to promote them in various fields.
Upon receiving a delegation from the Center for American Progress (CAP), one of the independent research centers in the US, the minister highlighted regional developments and Jordan's stances towards them, pointing out to challenges facing the Kingdom due to the unstable political and security regional situation.
Al-Momani spoke about economic challenges facing the Kingdom, due to the regional situation, receiving refugees and borders closure, which had a significant impact during the past years on the decline of Jordanian exports and the foreign trade.
He reiterated Jordan's clear position since the beginning of the Syrian crisis that the solution to the crisis is a political solution, not a military one.
The minister Urged the international community to provide necessary support to Jordan to continue to provide basic services to refugees.
'The Palestinian issue is the core issue in the Middle East and finding a just and lasting solution to it will contribute to finding solutions to all challenges facing the region,' Al-Momani said.
He pointed out to Jordan's rejection of the US administration's decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem and that the issue of Jerusalem should be left to final status negotiations.
He underlined that Jordan is fighting terrorism and terrorist groups within a holistic approach.
