Temperatures to rise for next two days, back on Wednesday
AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Monday, becoming around their annual average. Therefore, pleasant and spring-like conditions will prevail in the hilly areas, the Badia regions and plains, while it will be warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman and the northern cities will reach 23 degrees Celsius dropping down to 11 at night, while in the southern regions, they will stand at 19 degrees sliding to 7 at night. The weather be hotter in Aqaba with highs reaching 31 degrees and lows standing at 21 at night.
A further rise in mercury levels is also forecast on Tuesday, creating warm conditions in the mountainous areas, the Badia and eastern plains, while it will be relatively hot in other parts of the Kingdom. Tuesday night, it will turn to partly cloudy with a chance for light showers with southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the southern and eastern areas of the country, the department said.
Unstable weather conditions, will start affecting the country as of Wednesday, pushing temperatures back to their seasonal average and creating cloudy skies with scattered showers in various areas. Heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning are also expected at times, while winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, raising dust in the southern and eastern regions, the JMD noted.
