AMMONNEWS - The eastern military command, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) and the Military Security Department, foiled an attempt to smuggle an amount of drugs into the Kingdom from Syria, a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army source said on Sunday.
The military source added that the rules of engagement were applied, after the border guards spotted two vehicles that tried to approach the country, resulting in their retreat to Syria.
After searching the area, around 118 palm-sized sheets of heroin and 6 bags containing 910 palm-sized sheets of hashish were seized and referred to the concerned authorities, the source added.
