King attends Al-Faris International Horseback Archery Championship
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Saturday attended the closing ceremony of the Al-Faris International Horseback Archery Championship III held at the Al-Rayah Parade Grounds in the Royal Hashemite Court.
His Majesty presented awards to the winners of a variety of archery styles, such as; the Asian Style, the European Style and the Oriental Style, known as 'Al-Ghara' (Attack).
The King also watched a short film wrapping up the various activities of the two-day championship organized in cooperation the Ministry of Tourism, the Jordan Tourism Board and the Public Security Department.
Al-Faris III competitions revolve around three Horseback Archery Styles: the European Style, known as the Hungarian Style; the Asian Style, known as the Korean Style; and the Oriental Style, known as Al-Ghara Arabic for 'raid' which is a newly-developed Jordanian Style that combines archery with tent-pegging.
