AMMONNEWS - One person died and 41 others were injured when a bus carrying 46 workers rolled over in the Ma'an region, some 220km south of Amman, a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement said Friday.
It said paramedics and rescue teams rushed to the scene, administered first aid to the injured before moving them to a nearby hospital.
Seven people were critically wounded in the accident, it added, pointing out 46 Indian, Bengali and Nepali workers were aboard the vehicle which was travelling in Ma'an's Petra district.
The statement said that CDD chief Mustafa Bazai'ah was closely following up on the accident in collaboration with Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Interior Minister, Health Minister and the Director General of the Royal Medical Services.
The Royal Jordanian Air Force was airlifting the injured to the King Hussein Medical Center, the statement indicated.
