SOFEX, 'a global platform for dialogue and exchange of security expertise'
AMMONNEWS - The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) 2018 kicks off under the royal patronage in its twelfth edition on May 7-10.
SOFEX will start with the Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference under the title 'Hybrid Warfares in the Global Gray Zone - Ever Changing Operational Environment', in which leaders, experts and specialists from across the world will discuss current global security issues and the role of technology in impacting these.
The conference, which will be held one day ahead of the exhibition, is a special global forum for dialogue, the exchange of expertise and offering solutions to security challenges facing all world nations, said SOFEX director Amer Al Tabaa.
He said the exhibition will bring together defense ministers, special operations commanders and heads of security agencies representing their countries to exchange ideas, advice and expertise on best practices in dealing with the various security challenges facing world countries today.
The exhibition will take place on May 8-10 at an area of 75,000 square meters, where local, regional and international companies will display state-of-the-art special operations forces equipment and technology in the field of national security.
Tabaa said in a press statement on Monday that all preparations to hold the SOFEX 2018 were nearing completion, adding that the exhibition will be held under the direct supervision of HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, and with the support of the various security agencies.
He also said that the King Abdullah II Center for Design and Development Bureau (CADDB) will participate in the exhibition through displaying the latest innovations and designs that are produced by its cadres.
The Jordanian Armed Forces- Arab Army and security apparatuses will also have a special pavilion to demonstrate their role, capabilities, military, technological and training potentials, which had been enhanced by the armed forces participations in international peacekeeping operations and in joint exercises.
