Government congratulates Christians in Jordan over Easter
AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Jamal Sarayrah conveyed congratulations of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki and the Government to Christians in Jordan on the occasion of Easter.
During his visit to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in Amman, accompanied by a group of ministers and the heads of the Christian churches in Jordan on Sunday, Sarayra lauded the country's record in the 'human partnership characterized by pluralism in thought, vision and belief, under the bonds of our Arab identity, the spirit of citizenship, and allegiance to the Hashemite leadership.'
During the ceremony, he said this feast comes at a time of victory over Israel's unilateral measures in Jerusalem, and added the Church of the Holy Sepulcher has reopened its doors and rituals resumed after it was closed for the first time in history to protest against aggression on the holy sites.
Sarayra reiterated Jordan's firm rejection of the continuous measures taken by the Israeli authorities to change the historical and legal situation in the holy sites in East Jerusalem, pointing out this is the Kingdom's unwavering stance in light of the historic Hashemite guardianship over the holy sites in the city.
