AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in mercury levels is expected on Thursday, but relatively cold weather will continue to prevail in the hilly areas and the Badia region, while it will be warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman, the northern and the southern cities will range between 16-14 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 8, 9 and 4 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 27 degrees and lows standing at 13 at night.
Similar conditions are forecast to remain Friday during the day, but the Kingdom will be affected by unstable weather conditions as of Friday evening, where clouds will appear at various altitudes bringing partly cloudy skies with scattered showers across in the southern and eastern parts.
The impact of the unstable weather will deepen as of Friday midnight, bringing scattered showers across many parts of the country with westerly moderate winds, the JMD added.
A cold and wet air mass accompanied to a depression centered over Lebanon is forecast to affect the Kingdom, creating tangible in temperatures with cloudy skies and bringing scattered showers in most regions.
'Rainfall is likely to be heavy in the evening, especially in the western parts of the country and to be accompanied by thunder and hail, the JMD said further.
