Approaching cold front brings colder conditions for three days
AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Sunday, becoming around their annual average and bringing relatively cold conditions across much parts of the Kingdom with clouds at low and medium altitudes.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), scattered showers of rain are forecast late tonight in the northern parts of the country.
On Monday, the Kingdom is forecast to be affected by a depression centralized over Cyprus, accompanied by a cold air mass that will temperatures and bring rainfall to most regions, the JMD added.
Starting Monday afternoon, westerly brisk will start blowing bringing rain during late night hours, and may be accompanied by thunder, lightning and hail.
Highs for today will be 14 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern cities, while overnight lows reaching 7 and 9 respectively. Daytime temperatures in the southern governorates will reach 9 degrees, plummeting to 6 at night, while in the Gulf of Aqaba they will register 22 during the day, dropping down to 16 at night, the JMD said.
Mercury levels will rise few degrees on Tuesday, but cold and partly cloudy weather will continue to prevail with light showers mainly in the northern and central parts of the country. Temperatures will plummet at night with fog formation in the highlands with southwesterly light winds.
