Interior minister meets Indonesia's National Counterterrorism Agency Chief
AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Ghalib Al Zu'bi on Sunday discussed with Indonesia's National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Chief Suhardi Alius and an accompanying delegation, cooperation between the two countries in the security field as well as means to combat terrorism and extremism.
The meeting also focused on the security challenges that resulted from regional and international developments, mainly extremist ideology.
The minister agreed with the Indonesian official to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries soon to activate mechanisms of countering extremism.
Al Zu'bi reviewed efforts exerted by Jordan to counter terrorism and extremism, including the drafting of plans programs and strategies to fight this phenomenon in addition to coordination with the international community to spread awareness on the dangers of extremism.
The Indonesian minister highlighted the importance of Jordanian-Indonesian strategy to counter terrorism and extremism as well as the exchange of expertise to reach a common vision on fighting terrorism.
