AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday stressed the key role played by the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) in highlighting national efforts to promote human rights at international forums.
Receiving NCHR Chairman of Board of Trustees, Mohammad Adnan Al-Bakhit, who handed the King a copy of the 2016 annual report on the condition of human rights in Jordan, the King underlined the importance of a sustained cooperation and coordination between the NCHR and state's authorities and agencies to advance human rights as a crucial pillar in the comprehensive reform process.
At the meeting, held at the al-Husseiniya Palace and attended by Commissioner General of the NCHR, Musa Braizat, Al-Bakhit outlined the key themes addressed in the report, besides the methodology used to monitor, follow-up and handle observations received by the center.
Furthermore, the report sheds light on issues and topics pertaining to human rights situation in Jordan, as well as the action required to follow-up and implement recommendations in this context.
The meeting was attended by the Royal Court chief and the director of the King's Office.
