AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi agreed with his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides on Wednesday, to establish a joint working group to follow up on joint issues and agreements between the two countries with the aim of boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During their meeting in Amman, the two ministers also discussed Jordanian-Cypriot ties and affirmed their keenness to take practical steps to develop relations in the economic, trade, investment, tourism and cultural fields.
Safadi praised Cyprus's supportive stance to Jordan within EU institutions, and voiced the Kingdom's pride in the distinguished cooperation in the security and defense domains.
During the meeting, the two ministers also reviewed regional issues, mainly the Syrian crisis, the Palestinian issues and the war on terrorism and dark ideologies.
On the Palestinian issue, Safadi stressed the importance of re-launching peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis to achieve peace based on the two-state solution as the only means to solve the conflict.
The two ministers also affirmed the need to find peaceful solutions to regional crises to bring about peace, security and stability.
