PM meets with Senate president, members of Lower House's Watan bloc
AMMONNEWS - As part of the government's policy to continue consultations with the two chambers of parliament, the economic sector and local councils, Prime Minister Hani al-Mulqi held separate meetings with Senate President Faisal al-Fayez, Senate committees' members as well as head and members of the Lower House's Watan bloc.
Al-Mulqi said that the government will listen during such meetings to proposals that aims to find solutions to economic challenges and stimulate economic growth that would contribute to improving citizens living conditions.
He said the economic reform program aims to put the economy on the right track, more job opportunities, control public debt and address the budget deficit.
The Senate President said that any reforms or financial and economic measures should not affect citizens living conditions and work to expand the middle class and protect the poor and citizens with limited incomes.
The prime minister also met with members of the Watan bloc, who highlighted the importance of such meetings in discussing various challenges facing Jordan at this stage.
They also stressed the importance of protecting the middle class, and low income segments and a social safety network to protect them from the rise of prices.
