AMMONNEWS - Independent Election Commission (IEC) spokesperson, Jihad Momani, said voters number amounted to 412,000 nationwide until 12:00 o'clock, with a total voting rate of 10.5 percent.
He said during a press conference that the Mafraq Governorate witnessed the highest voters turnout with 22 per cent while it reached 6 per cent in Amman.
'The general situation of the elections is proceeding well and there are no hindrances that disrupt the voting process', he said.
He pointed out that power outages occurred in some areas that are experiencing pressure on the electricity supply due to hot weather, stressing that electricity was restored in those areas.
He also denied news that a person adopted a false identity of an IEC employee, adding that police arrested two persons who might have photocopied ballots.
