AMMONNEWS - The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) Saturday signed a memorandum of Understanding with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the commission in institutionalizing and upgrading the electoral process.
A statement issued by the commission said the memo also aims to expand the public's participation in the decision-making process through the ballot box.
It said the deal is meant to support the IEC's management of the upcoming municipal and decentralisation elections, its setting up of a regional training centre and supporting the commission's efforts to develop the skills of election officials in the Kingdom as well as its future awareness campaigns in schools and universities to familiarise with the best democratic practices.
