AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi stressed the importance of defeating terrorism and its gangs at the military, security and ideological levels.
In remarks at a conference, dubbed: ''International Conference on Victims of Ethnic and Religious Violence in the Middle East'' in Madrid that is chaired by Jordan and Spain, Safadi said that terrorism is a common enemy that does not distinguish between a religion or race.
He warned of falling into the trap of terrorists who seek to divide the world and that confrontation is between the West and Islam or between the majority or minorities.
Safadi told the foreign ministers and representatives of 75 countries and international organizations that took part in the conference that Daesh will not be able to obliterate cultural diversity that prevailed in the Arab and Islamic civilization over centuries.
'Defeating terrorism requires solutions to conflicts that led to injustice and despair, ' Safadi added.
In this context, he stressed the importance of ending the fighting in all Syrian territories and move towards political solution based on Geneva 1 resolution as well as UN Security Council resolution 2254.
The minister also voiced Jordan’s support to national reconciliation in Iraq that guarantees the rights of all segments of the Iraqi society.
He highlighted the importance of solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution that leads to an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders in order to achieve regional security and stability.
