AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday, met with the Leader of the Government in the Australian Senate, George Brandis, Justice Minister and Assistant Prime Minister for Counter-Terrorism, Michael Keenan, as well as specialists in foreign affairs, defense, security and counter terrorism.
Talks during the meeting, which was held at the Australian Parliament, dealt with means to boost cooperation between Jordan and Australia in the fields of fighting terrorism, security and legal cooperation, and the exchange of expertise in this area.
During the meeting, King Abdullah said that the fight against terrorism and its gangs require a comprehensive strategy, as terrorism threatens global peace and security.
The discussions also focused on crises in the Middle East, mainly in Syria, and the need to reach a political solution to this crisis to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people and preserve the unity of their country.
The Australian officials voiced appreciation of Jordan's efforts, under His Majesty's leadership, to address regional crises and host Syrian refugees.
The meeting was attended by the Royal Court chief, the foreign minister and Jordan'as ambassador to Australia.
