AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, on Wednesday, voiced Jordan's appreciation for the support and assistance Germany has been providing to Jordan, particularly the recent and unprecedented €273 million aid package to help the Kingdom shoulder the burden of hosting Syrian refugees.
During a meeting with German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Muller, the prime minister said Jordan is calling upon the international community to honor its obligations and support the Kingdom, as announced in the London conference, expressing hope that Germany, as a major member in the Group of Seven (G7), could help in that regard.
The premier said Jordan is looking forward to taking advantage of the advanced German expertise in the field of vocational training and technical assistance in order to secure the necessary funding to establish a specialized vocational center.
Al Mulki spoke about economic challenges Jordan is facing, especially in light of the Syrian refugee crisis that has put a considerable pressure on key sectors like education, health and water.
The German minister said his country stands by Jordan and supports it to address the consequences of the Syrian crisis.
He stressed the importance of fulfilling the commitments undertaken in the framework of the 'Jordan Compact' during the London conference, to allow the Kingdom to continue providing essential services to host communities and Syrians refugees.
