Jordan to offer special facilities for Palestinian investors: Official
AMMONNEWS - President of the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) Thabit al Wirr said the commission will offer special facilities for the Palestinian investor, who wishes to establish an economic venture in Jordan.
During a meeting with the Palestinian Jordanian Business Forum, al Wirr noted that the investment system for non-Jordanian, according to the investment law, allows the Palestinian investor to invest, establish a project in any economic activity and access various features and facilities that non-Jordanian investors could obtain according to sectors mentioned in the law.
JIC's President added that the Palestinian investor has the right to apply for driver's licenses via his investor card, the right to own lands and real estates via his enterprise or company, and the right to establish a regional office for his company.
The Palestinian Jordanian Business Forum's vice president, Sami al-Sharawi stressed the importance of introducing features of the Jordanian certificate of origin to the Palestinian investor as well as encouraging him to take advantage of Jordan's development areas characteristics.
He emphasized JIC's need to set up economic workshops and seminars for Palestinian investors to introduce the Jordanian investment features and laws, and inform the Palestinian investor on investment opportunities available in the Kingdom.
He noted that the JIC's meeting is part of the forum's plans to support the project of enhancing trade exchange between Jordan and Palestine, which was launched by the forum in Amman and the Palestinian Businessmen Association, based in Hebron, in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
