AMMONNEWS - US President Barack Obama on Thursday said his country-led coalition will continue to target Daesh across all fronts, adding allies have made significant progress in the military campaign against the organization.
Speaking after a meeting with his national security team at the Pentagon, Obama said 'we continue to take out senior ISIS leaders and commanders. This includes ISIS's deputy minister of war, Basim Muhammad al-Bajari, the top commander in Mosul Hatim Talib al-Hamduni and in yet another significant loss for ISIS is minister of war, Umar al-Shishani'.
Meanwhile, Obama criticized the Syrian regime and accused it of targeting civilians.
Obama affirmed that the US will keep working with its allies and partners to go after ISIS wherever it tries to spread, adding that the coalition is conducting airstrikes in support of government forces to retake Sirte from Daesh.
'We are going to keep working with partners, including Muslim countries and communities, especially online, to expose ISIS for what they are; murderers who kill innocent people, including Muslim families and children as they break the Ramadan fast and who set off bombs in Medina,' Obama said
