Turkish ambassador : We welcomed the decision of closing the Turkish school in Amman
AMMONNEWS - Mohammad Mizher - The Turkish ambassador in Jordan Sedat Onal confirmed in a press conference held in Turkish embassy that what happened in Turkey on the evening 15 July aimed at disrupting the constitutional democracy and forcefully removing the legitimately elected President and the government in Turkey.
The ambassador pointed out that the Turkish armed forces was not staged the coup , but a small faction within the army which is affiliated to Fethullah Gulen terrorist organization which infiltrated various echelons of the army over the years .
These brutal acts resulted in the killing of 246 policemen and civilians and injury of 2185 citizens , ambassador said.
He stressed that the Turkey is fully aware and will abide by its obligations as regards democracy , rule of law , human rights and international conventions .
The measures being taken are in conformity with the current legislation and our international obligations, he said .
He noted that we once again call on our regional partners and international community to take effective measures to prevent the activities of this group on their territory .

He added that We are in constant contact with the Jordanian side and there is coordination and cooperation in various fields, and we have a good relationship with Jordan .
He said that the coup foiled because the attempt revealed the extent to which Fethullah Gulen terrorist organization poses a threat to democracy , pace and stability in Turkey.
In reply to a question, the ambassador said that Turkey is in continuous contact, coordination and cooperation with Jordan in various fields and that Turkey has distinguished ties with Jordan.
Turkey, he said, appreciates Jordan's stance and solidarity with his country and its people.
