Jordan developed modern media strategy, says minister
AMMONNEWS - On Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties, Momani said that these relations are steadily developing, noting that the two countries' leaderships are keen to coordinate on various regional and international issues, mainly the establishment of security and stability in the region.
'The security and stability of Gulf countries are tied to Jordan’s security,' the minister said, adding that the Kingdom rejects any interferences in the internal affairs of Gulf states.
Jordan and Kuwait, Momani said, see eye-to-eye on the Middle East peace process, the need to find a peaceful solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and condemning Israeli measures against Al Aqsa Mosque-Haram Al Sharif compound.
'Jordan and Kuwait also have similar views on the fight against terrorism and extremism and on the importance of boosting international cooperation in this regard,' the minister said, noting that both countries also exchange views on the Syrian crisis as well as the challenges facing the Kingdom as a result of hosting a round 1.3 million Syrian refugees.
On the economic issues, Momani said that the two countries have more than 25 agreements, protocols and memorandums of understanding on bilateral cooperation, adding that Kuwait is a major partner of Jordan in the investment domain.
Both countries, he added are preparing to hold the 4th session of the Jordanian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee in mid 2016 in Amman to further develop bilateral ties.
'In the media field, Jordan has three draft memorandums and programs to present for signing during meetings of the Jordanian-Kuwaiti committee,' the minister noted.
The Kuwaiti Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Sabah Salim Al Hmoud Al Sabah said that the forum provides and opportunity to review developments in the media field and their impact in all aspects of life.
He said Kuwait's media strategy is based on giving priority to issues of concern to the country and its citizens.
