Jordanian MPs highlight Kingdom's role in Mideast security and stability
AMMONNEWS - Jordan plays a pivotal role to maintain the security and stability of the Middle East, Jordanian MPs have told a Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly session.
Jordanian MPs, Khalid Al Bakkar, Reem Abu Dalboh and Mostafa Hamarneh, also highlighted the Jordanian efforts to reach a just and comprehensive peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
Further, they spoke about the Kigndom's leading role in fighting terrorism and extremism, as well as the burdens being borne by Jordan because of hosting millions of refugees. On refugees, the lawmakers affirmed that Jordanians had not taken to the streets to protest against hosting refugees, unlike other countries, with better resources and economies.
The Parliamentary session is discussing a number of issues, such as refugees, fighting terrorism as well as following up on decisions taken by the assembly's standing committees.
