AMMONNEWS - The 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) 2016, will open during 9-12 May, under royal auspices at the King Abdullah I Air Base in Amman.
Organizers of the event, which will be held under the direct supervision of HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein and the support of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, are working relentlessly to ensure the success of this event. SOFEX constitutes an international forum that gather major producers and developers of defense equipment in the world with military chiefs, decision makers and government representatives.
SOFEX Managing Director, Amer Tabbaa, said the event is the largest defence exhibition in the field of special and national security operations in the Middle East and North Africa.
The exhibition focuses on matters related to special forces and peacekeeping operations equipment, as well as training and organization and supplies of special operations and security agencies, added Tabbaa.
He said in a statement that SOFEX, which has been taking place every two years since its inception in 1996, is witnessing a remarkable growth in terms of size and prestige year after year.
He pointed to the exhibit's area which was increased this year to 75,000 square meters to meet the increasing number of participating companies.
The number of participants is increasing each week and this reflects the diversity and competition among the participating companies, Tabbaa said.
