AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, Sunday, received Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, at a meeting that tackled the King's efforts to safeguard the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the city.
During the meeting, held at Al Hussainiah Palace in the presence of HRH Prince Ghazi bin Mohammed, the King's Senior Advisor for religious affairs, cultural and personal envoy to His Majesty, the Patriarch said that all the people of Jerusalem, both Christians and Muslims, highly appreciate the King's gesture to renovate Jesus' Tomb in the Church of Resurrection at his personal expense.
He added that the King's efforts in protecting the Christian existence in Jerusalem had a profound impact in boosting their steadfastness, stressing that these efforts had restored hope for the Christians of the Orient for a brighter future.
