U.S. not ready for military cooperation with Russia in Syria
AMMONNEWS - The United States does not plan to cooperate with Russia in the military sphere in Syria, the Pentagon spokesperson Peter Cook said late Tuesday during a briefing in Washington DC.
Russia is playing a constructive role in the Syrian ceasefire, the Pentagon official said, adding that it has seen developments on the ground. It encouraged Moscow to continue to focus on Islamic State (Daesh).
Cook explained that the US sees those developments on the ground, but also hope that the ceasefire in Syria would 'ultimately lead to a resolution of the Syrian Civil War.'
