US-Trained Solders From Jordan Provide Boost in War Against Daesh
AMMONNEWS - Biden toured the base with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, where US troops have been training Jordanian soldiers for several years.
In a visit punctuated with flyovers by two F-16 jet fighters and eight combat helicopters, Biden also cautioned that the war against the Islamic State, also known as Daesh, will take a 'long time.'
'They are already on their heels,' Biden said with regard to Daesh. 'They are no existential threat to the United States.'
Before traveling to Jordan, Biden visited Israel, where he met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
