News blackout ordered on Irbid terror cell investigation
AMMONNEWS - Jordan Media Commission (JMC) Director General Amjad Qadi on Sunday ordered a ban on the publication of any reports on the investigation into the Irbid terrorist cell case in the local audiovisual and print media as well as news websites and the social media.
The decision was based on an order by the State Security Court's Attorney General that was issued earlier in the day.
The embargo was to maintain the confidentiality of the investigation in the case under penalties prescribed by the law.
Qadi said the data and information issued by the attorney general are exempt from the order.
