AMMONNEWS - Construction sector representatives made a series of demands at a meeting Saturday with Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, top of which is reduction of taxes and other fees in ratio to net profit from 25 per cent to 20 per cent.
Construction Contractors Association President Wael Toukan and syndicate members met the prime minister in the presence of Minister of Public Works and Housing Sami Halasah and Finance Minister Omar Malhas.
Two legislators also attended the meeting, during which Ensour directed the housing minister to look into the nature of the tenders referred to it before this date, and the effect of the current procedures on them, and also asked the finance minister to examine the impact on the treasury of the syndicate's demands.
