Depression forecast to lower temperatures, bring heavy rain, thunderstorms
AMMONNEWS - The Kingdom on Sunday remains under the impact of the cold wet air mass, which started late Saturday, bringing rain and lower temperatures, Jordan meteorologist said .
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), it will be cold with heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightening in most parts of the country. Hails with light snow over the hilly areas are also expected in early morning .
A slight rise in temperatures is forecast Monday, but it will remain cold , cloudy and partly cloudy with scattered showers during daytime mainly in the northern and western parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be northwesterly moderate, the JMD added.
At night, the weather will gradually stabilize, clouds will decrease with fog and frost formation on the mountainous areas, the Badia region and eastern plains.
Temperatures expected in the capital for today will range between a high of 8 degrees Celsius and a low of 4 degrees at night, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will hit 17 degrees dropping down to 9 degrees at night.
