PM, Turkish air force commander discuss military ties
AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met the Turkish Air Force Commander Gen Abidin Unal and discussed military cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting dealt with ways to boost cooperation between the two countries' air forces in the field of training and the exchange of expertise.
Ensour welcomed the Turkish general and said his visit is of a political nature and will reflect on cooperation between Amman and Ankara.
The prime minister said Jordan is working to achieve peace and stability in the region, stressing that the Kingdom does not interfere in the domestic affairs of others and had 'no arms operating outside its borders'.
Unal said Jordan had a key role to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East, adding that both Jordan and Turkey were suffering from the repercussions of the Syrian crisis as they host millions of Syrian refugees.
