King meets CEO of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday met Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), Shimon Fogel, and the accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the King reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East, mainly efforts to achieve peace between the Palestinians and Israelis.
In this context, His Majesty stressed the need for concerted efforts to revive the peace process through the resumption of peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis based on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state living in peace and security alongside Israel.
The King also spoke about efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and called for boosting cooperation and dialogue among cultures and followers of various religions with the aim of promoting the values of moderation and tolerance.
King Abdullah also highlighted the role of Jewish organizations in the world to support peace efforts in the region.
Members of the delegation voiced appreciation of the King's efforts to address the current challenges facing the region.
They also praised Jordan's pivotal role in supporting efforts to bring about peace in the Middle East.
