AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, met on the sidelines of his visit to Moscow on Wednesday, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to discuss the latest regional development and means of boosting ties between the two countries .
The two leaders stressed the importance of continued consultations and coordination to serve the interests of the two countries as well as the need to maintain coordination and cooperation in the military field.
The King renewed Jordan's supportive stance towards Egypt at various levels.
The Egyptian President reiterated his country's appreciation of the Kingdom's support to Egypt, which reflects the depth of historical relations between the countries.
El-Sisi also commended Jordan's role through its membership of the security Council in supporting Arab issues at various international forums.
On the fight against terrorism , the two leaders affirmed the need for concerted international, Arab and Islamic efforts to counter the threats of terrorism, extremism and terrorist groups.
With regard to the Syrian crisis, the two leaders called for a comprehensive political solution which ends the suffering of the Syrian people and preserves Syria’s unity and territorial integrity.
The King and the Egyptian president called for intensifying efforts to end the current impasse in the peace process and resume negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions .
On the situation in Libya, both leaders stressed the importance of supporting the country's state agencies as well as efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability in the country.
Talks also touched on the situation in Iraq, where the two leaders agreed on the need to support the Iraqi government and its efforts to deal with the challenges in order to enhance security and stability in Iraq.
