AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday affirmed there are no opinion prisoners in Jordan.
The premier made the remarks during a meeting with Jordanian journalists working abroad who were in Jordan to take part in the Jordanian Expatriate Conference (Jordan Brings Us Together).
At the meeting, which was attended by State Minister For Media Affairs, Mohammad Momani, the premier said the government is keen to maintain communication with Jordanians abroad, stressing that they are ambassadors, who reflect the bright image of Jordan.
Ensour underlined the importance of press freedom, highlighting the freedom journalists enjoy in Jordan.
Moreover, he briefed the attendees on Jordan's stance towards the latest regional developments, emphasizing that the Kingdom was able to maintain its security and stability, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the awareness of its people.
Answering a question about the war on Daesh terrorist group, Ensour said that the tolerant image of Islam is victim of the regional unrest, pointing out Jordan's constitutional right to defend its people and territory against any threats that compromise its security.
