AMMONNEWS - The number of Syrian refugees who have fled their country since the start of the civil war now exceeds 4 million, according to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
The Agency said in a statement yesterday that the number of Syrian refugees rose by 1 million over the last 10 months.
'The number of refugees is expected to reach 4.27 million in addition to 7.6 (million refugees) displaced inside Syria,' the statement added.
According to the UN, Syria has the highest number of internally displaced people, totaling 7.6 million, followed by Afghanistan with 2.59 million and Somalia with 1.1 million.
