Army to launch officer program for university graduates
AMMONNEWS - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Mashal Al Zaben, on Tuesday, said the Armed Forces-Arab Army will launch a program to recruit university graduates as officers in the military for an interim five-year period extendable for successful candidates.
In a reply to a letter by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in which the King directed the army to reconsider its approach to the recruitment and career development of commissioned officers, Al Zaben said the program dubbed 'Future Knights' will allow university graduates to join the army as officers for an interim period of five years as a first stage and that successful and willing candidates will be allowed to qualify for another stage of military service.
Al Zabin, who is also the King's adviser for military affairs, said in his reply that the program will act as an 'incubator for the development of Jordanian youths' expertise and competencies so they can join the various fields of work and production inside and outside the Kingdom armed with the highest degrees of discipline and values of dedication and giving.'
