Prince El-Hassan stresses need to achieve water security
AMMONNEWS - The Third German-Arab Water Forum, organized by the Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association (EMA) convened in Amman on Sunday.
The two-day forum opened under the patronage of His Royal Highness El-Hassan bin Talal, to discuss water challenges facing the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as the impact of the water crisis on the economic, environmental, social and political sectors.
In opening remarks, Prince El-Hassan, the Honorary President of EMA, stressed the importance of resilience, adaptation and the ability to effect change as basic components in addressing water challenges.
He said water security can only be achieved through the joint efforts of local communities and international organizations, better use of water and energy resources, coupled with efforts to achieve regional stability and avert recurrent conflicts.
