Readers Bookshop hosts book signing event for local debut of Nickunj Malik’s Tale Spin
AMMONNEWS - Readers Bookshop recently hosted a book signing event for the launch of international journalist and Amman resident Nickunj Malik's Tale Spin. The event was held at Readers’ Seventh Circle (Cozmo Centre) branch on Monday, April 20, and was attended by an array of media representatives and reading enthusiasts.
Nickunj Malik’s journalistic career spans more than two decades, during which time she has authored columns and articles for numerous publications across the region and globe, including Dubai’s Khaleej Times, Bahrain’s Daily Tribune, Tanzania’s Business Times, and the Kingdom’s own Jordan Times. Malik’s debut book, titled Tale Spin, is a collection of her most beloved columns throughout the years, all employing her trademark humour, warmth and intellect, which she applies to everything from seemingly everyday topics to more extraordinary events, such as her encounters with the legendary Nelson Mandela. Tale Spin is like the famous advertising jingle for a television: “neighbour’s envy, owner’s pride.”
Speaking on the occasion, Hiba Manna, Marketing Manager for THE Group – the retail pioneer behind Cozmo, Hamleys, Readers and BHS – said, “For more than four years, Nickunj Malik has been delighting and inspiring local readers with her engaging ‘Talespin’ column in The Jordan Times. With the launch of her book of the same name, Malik’s fans will get to experience a broader and more eclectic array of her expansive written repertoire. As Jordan’s premier destination for book lovers, we at Readers are always seeking to enrich the minds and hearts of local reading enthusiasts through engaging events like this one.”
Since opening in 2007, Readers has established itself as the leading bookshop in the Kingdom. With two branches – located in Cozmo Centre at the Seventh Circle and Taj Lifestyle in Abdoun – Readers offers its customers an extensive collection of books, covering an array of genres designed to excite and inspire avid book lovers and new readers alike.
