EY Jordan Reveals Finalists of 2014 ‘Entrepreneur Of The Year Award’
AMMONNEWS - EY Jordan announced on Monday 9 March, 2015, the names of 13 finalists, representing 10 companies, who qualified for the 2014 Jordan Entrepreneur Of The Year Award, which is held annually in the Kingdom under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. Finalists will compete under two separate categories, Entrepreneur Of The Year and Emerging Entrepreneur Of The Year. Both categories acknowledge the business achievements of remarkable Jordanian entrepreneurs who have spearheaded some of Jordan’s most successful companies, encouraged innovation, shaped market trends, created jobs and contributed to socio-economic advancement.
Finalists for the Entrepreneur Of The Year category, which celebrates outstanding business leaders who inspire others with their long-term vision, leadership and achievements, include: Dr. Ahmad Hourani of United Jordanian Company for Investment; Eng. Bashar Zawaideh, Eng. Khaled Darwish and Dr. Thaer Darwish of Sinbad Group for Marine Transportation and Water Sports; Elia Wakileh of Comprehensive Leasing Company; Mohammed Atout of Trismart Security; Omar Zumot of Omar & Khaled Zumot Co.; and Riad Khashman of RUM Group. The winner of the Entrepreneur Of The Year category will represent Jordan at the globally-renowned EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year award event in Monte Carlo in June 2015, competing against fellow candidates from over 60 nations for the prestigious title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
In turn, finalists for the Emerging Entrepreneur Of The Year category, which recognizes exemplary entrepreneurs who have established distinguished start-ups that represent innovation at its best, consist of: Jumana Boulos and Nadeem Alsalem of Gibran Translation Services Company; Nabil Tarazi of EcoHotels; Penelope Shihab of Jordan Company for Antibody Production – MONOJO; and Tayseer Abu Shaqdam of Abu Shaqdam for Security Doors.
The finalists will be assessed by an independent judging panel based on six criteria: Entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, innovation, global impact and personal integrity/influence.
