HRH Prince El Hassan Calls the international community to support the UNRWA programme in Gaza
AMMONNEWS - HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan expressed his deep concern over the news that UNRWA has decided to suspend its cash assistance programme in Gaza, where thousands of homeswere damaged or destroyed and the familiesleft homeless and uprooted.
HRH called on the international community to support the UNRWA programme and provide the necessary funds needed for its completion. “It is important to remind the world of the human suffering and horrors experienced by Gazans. There was a unanimous agreement to rebuild Gaza and restore those affected. As we all know the right to shelter is one of the most fundamental human rights stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”
HRH stated that the world community should not ignore the human suffering in Gaza and lessons should be learnt from past experiences.
“The inertia in responding to the needs of Gaza only adds fuel to the fire at a time when we have formed an international alliance to combat extremism and terrorism.”HRH concluded.
