Israel removes wooden bridge at Mughrabi Gate, following pressure from Jordan
AMMONNEWS - Israeli authorities started, on Wednesday, dismantling a wooden footbridge, which was set up at the Mughrabi Gate in occupied Jerusalem in response to heavy Jordanian pressure.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, gave orders to dismantle the new bridge, which was built at the entrance of the Mughrabi Gate next to the Buraq Wall in Jerusalem, after two weeks of on its' construction in the wake of intense Jordanian and international pressure.
According to Israeli paper, Haaretz, an Israeli official said Jordan has sent several strongly-worded messages to Israel through diplomatic channels, and considered that the construction of the bridge is an attack on religious monuments and heritage in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
