AMMONNEWS - Jewish settlers, led by Likud MK Moshe Feiglin, broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday from Al-Magharbah Gate in occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of Israeli soldiers and policemen.
According to Palestinian eyewitnesses, Feiglin carried out a provocative tour inside the mosque facilities and climbed the Dome of the Rock.
A few days ago, Feiglin called for storming the mosque to examine the readiness of Israeli soldiers in carrying out Israeli plans to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews and to extend Jewish control over it.
Since Saturday night, Israeli forces imposed restrictions on Palestinian worshipers in Jerusalem, closed the main entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque and only allowed Muslims over 50 years old to enter, the sources added.
Confrontations erupted between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers, though no injuries were reported.
Media sources also reported that a number of radical settlers attacked a young Palestinian in the holy occupied city of Jerusalem early Sunday.
The settlers were chanting racist slogans, calling for 'Death to the Arabs and the Palestinians'.
