Airport International Group to Host Airports Council International ‘10th
AMMONNEWS - Airport International Group (AIG) - the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) - has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airports Council International (ACI) to host ACI’s ‘10th Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference & Exhibition’ for the first time in the Middle East. Selected following an international bid issued by ACI Asia-Pacific, AIG will be responsible for full event management and branding, in addition to engaging local delegates, sponsors and exhibitors.
Scheduled to take place between 27 and 29 April, 2015, at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre at the Dead Sea, the event will bring together approximately 500 key aviation industry stakeholders including executives, government entities, specialists and service providers from across the world to discuss various topics pertaining to sustainable airport development. The event will examine methods for achieving airport business sustainability in the face of evolving airport industry trends and challenges that transcend conventional business boundaries
“The 10th Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference & Exhibition will cement Jordan as a prime host of prominent industry events that tackle pressing topics and potential opportunities within the local, regional and international aviation industry. Moreover, it will contribute to the development of the Jordanian tourism sector by highlighting Jordan as a safe haven for travelers in the region, promoting its historical touristic sites, and showcasing its vibrant culture and warm hospitality. I would like to thank ACI for presenting us with the opportunity to bring such a globally-acclaimed, progressive industry event to the Middle East for the first time, which I am confident will yield positive results for all involved parties and the industry as a whole,” commented AIG CEO Kjeld Binger.
“At ACI Asia-Pacific, we are delighted to have AIG as the host of the 10th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Annual Assembly, Conference & Exhibition,” said Patti Chau, Regional Director of ACI Asia-Pacific. “The Regional Annual Assembly for the very first time will be held in the Middle East where aviation growth has outpaced global average. Famed for its ancient past and rich culture, Jordan is a fitting venue for next year’s event. Along with a new terminal that just opened a year ago, offering world class service and a unique travel experience, AIG will no doubt be a superb host. QAIA, recipient of the 2013 ACI ASQ ‘Best Improvement by Region – Middle East’, is a perfect example of the exciting developments taking place in many of the Middle East airports, all competing to provide the best air transport hub as well as maintain a high level of customer service. ACI Asia-Pacific looks forward to seeing you at this event.”
