CIA, Jordanian Special Forces to attack the kidnappers of Jordanian ambassador to Libya
AMMONNEWS - Sources in the Jordanian capital Amman told the Arab daily News today that Jordanian Special forces units are already on the ground in Libya and getting ready to attack the kidnappers of the Jordanian ambassador to Libya Fawaz Al Aytan. The sources who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity , also said that the Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA, and other western intelligence agencies are part of the Jordanian operation to free the Jordanian ambassador.
Ambassador Al Aytan was kidnapped along with members of his security details last Sunday in the Libyan capital Tripoli according to official statements by the foreign ministries of Libya and Jordan.
The sources also said that two Jordanian helicopters carrying its special forces units have been seen refueling in Egypt while the CIA is participating with this operation with intelligence gathering and target location.
It is not known yet, however, which group that kidnapped the Jordanian diplomat, but several Jordanian press reports mentioned that Al aytan was kidnapped by an Al Qaida affiliate in Libya. Pan- Arab Al Quds Al Arabi reporter in Amman Tareq Al Fayed reported in the newspaper that the kidnappers intended to swap the Jordanian diplomat off with Libyan convicted terrorist Mohamad Al Dersi who in 2007 was convicted with others of a failed attempt to blow up Queen Alia’s civilian airport in Amman. Al Fayed quoted local attorney Mousa Alabdallat who represent Al Dersi stating that the kidnappers demanded the freeing of Al Dersi from Jordanian prison in exchange of freeing Al Aytan.
Jordan’s special forces have participated in toppling Libyan dictator Moammar Qaddafi in 2011 by aiding the Libyan rebel groups along with the CIA and British intelligences services. Jordan is also known to have one of the region’s best special forces units and is believed to have carried joint operations or on behalf of the US government. During the US war in Iraq in the last decade, the US Central Command under the Command of General David Petraeus the US has built a hundred Million dollar Special Forces training center near Amman . The King Abdullah Special Operation training Center, KASOTC, is commanded and run by American military company Via Global. KASOTC also trains the region’s militaries on special forces operations, counter terrorism units ,hostages release, and airplane hijacking.
