Jordan Reiterates Support for Independent Palestinian State
AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Sunday reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to realizing the two-state solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
At a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Araby, Judeh stressed on the centrality of the Palestinian issue in the region, saying that the solution to the issue is through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital.
The two sides also discussed the situation in Syria, underlining the importance of a political solution to end the Syrian crisis and preserve its unity.
